COMPORTAMENTO SOCIAL E TEMPERAMENTO DE BRAFORD CRIADOS EM CONDIÇÕES EXTENSIVAS
O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar se o temperamento de um grupo de animais da raça Braford, em manejo no tronco de contenção, apresenta persistência ao longo de três avaliações e descrever os comportamentos estabelecidos pelos animais ao longo do dia sob condições extensivas de criação. Foi observado o comportamento a campo e sob manejo rotineiro de um lote composto por 33 vacas e 1 touro. As vacas estavam com aproximadamente 4 meses de gestação e peso médio entre 400 e 430 kg. O lote estava situado em uma área de 25,4/ha, em pastagem de campo nativo, com farta disponibilidade de água e sombreamento natural. As observações a campo foram realizadas por 8 dias consecutivos, pelo método Scan Instantâneo a cada 10 minutos, com registro das interações entre os animais e seu comportamento, em um etograma. A mensuração da intensidade das reações e a facilidade de entrada dos animais no tronco, foi realizada em três observações, quando foram atribuídos 3 níveis de interferência utilizados pelo tratador, onde nível 1 significa sem interferência, nível 2 significa interferência leve (vocalização e toque) e nível 3 que significa interferência forte (vocalização alta e gestos incisivos). As atividades de permanência em decúbito e comportamentos não visíveis foram afetadas significativamente (P<0,05) pelos dias de observação, com maior frequência nos quatro primeiros dias (90% e 70%, respectivamente). Verificou-se uma maior frequência de animais que necessitaram de interferência do tratador para entrar no tronco de contenção, havendo predominância do nível de interferência leve. Conclui-se que o turno e o horário do dia podem influenciar comportamentos como descanso e ingestão de água dos bovinos criados de forma extensiva, e esse conhecimento pode ser utilizado na definição dos melhores momentos para a realização de práticas de manejo.

Abstract:
The objective of this work was to check if the temper of a group of animals of the breed Braford, in management in the containment trunk, shows persistence over three evaluations and describe the behaviors established by the animals along the day under extensive breeding conditions. Field behavior was observed under a routine management of a lot composed of 33 cows and 1 bull. The cows were approximately 4 months pregnant and had an average weight between 400 and 430 kg. The lot was located in an area of 25.4 / ha, in native grassland, with abundant water availability and natural shade. Data collection occurred in two simultaneous steps. The field observations were carried out for 8 consecutive days, using the Instant Scan method every 10 minutes,with a record of the interactions between animals and their behavior, in an ethogram, to measure the intensity of reactions and the ease of animals entering the trunk, three observations were made, where 3 levels of interference used by the keeper were assigned, where level 1 means no interference, level 2 means light interference (vocalization and touch) and level 3 means strong interference (loud vocalization and incisive gestures). Decubitus activities and non-visible behaviors were significantly affected (P <0.05) by the observation days, more frequently in the first four days (90% and 70%, respectively). There was a higher frequency of animals that required interference from the keeper to enter the containment trunk, with a predominance of light interference.Through the study of the data presented, it can be concluded that the shift and time of the day can influence behaviors such as rest and water intake of cattle raised extensively, and this knowledge can be used to define the best moments for carrying out management practices.
