COMPORTAMENTO DO PARTO EM NOVILHAS DA RAÇA HOLANDESA
Objetivou-se avaliar o efeito do sexo (S) e o peso ao nascer (PN) de bezerros sobre o intervalo de tempo (IT) durante o estágio II do parto de 82 novilhas Holandesas, de um rebanho comercial da cidade de Platteville – Colorado – EUA, entre 2012 e 2013. Dados da etapa do processo de parto (PP) foram coletados e classificados para posterior análise estatística. O tempo médio para expulsão de um bezerro foi de 150 min. Todas as etapas do PP apresentaram correlação positiva significativa entre si. O S e o PN não influenciaram diretamente nas etapas do estágio II do parto, contudo, indiretamente as suas relações afetaram de forma diferente durante o parto.

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of sex (S) and birth weight (BW) of calves on the time interval (TI) during stage II calving of 82 Holstein heifers from a commercial herd of Platteville - Colorado - USA, between 2012 and 2013. Data from the delivery process (DP) stage were collected and classified for further statistical analysis. The average time for expulsion of a calf was 150 min. All stages of DP showed significant positive correlation with each other. S and BW did not directly influence the stage II stages of calving, however, indirectly their relationships affected differently during calving.
