COMBINAÇÃO DO EXERCÍCIO FISICO E RAÇÃO HIPOCALORICA PARA TRATAR A OBESIDADE DE CÃES GUIAS
A presença dos cães na sociedade
tem tido uma grande importância, seja em
guarda, pastoreio entre outros, entretanto
novas funções são atribuídas com o passar
do tempo mostrando sua importância na
sociedade. A história do cão-guia iniciou-se
em 1718 e continua nos dias atuais. Através
de treinamento esses animais são preparados
para auxiliar os deficientes visuais. Porem a
maior dificuldade de adquirir tal animal é o do
alto custo de treinamento e uma falta de uma
nutrição adequada para esses animais. Estes
animais ajudam diariamente o deficiente e para
isso precisam de um bom aporte nutricional,
caso que não acontece em muitos cães, onde
o índice de obesidade entre esses animais é
muito grande devido o controle de alimentação
dos mesmos. E a obesidade é um problema
muito grave que vai afetar as funções desses
animais. Dessa forma o objetivo desse trabalho
foi inserir exercícios além de dietas hipocalóricas
na rotina de cão guias. O trabalho foi realizado
no Kennel Club do estado de Pernambuco.
Foram utilizados 7 animais, sendo 6 cães guia e 1 reprodutora. Foi possível observar
a diminuição do peso dos animais ao longo das semanas, ao adicionar a caminhada,
brincadeiras e interações entre eles. Podendo assim concluir que o uso dessas
ferramentas são importantes meios para ajudar na redução de peso dos animais.

Abstract:
The presence of dogs in society has been of great importance, whether in
guarding, shepherding among others, however new functions are attributed over time
showing their importance in society. The history of the guide dog began in 1718 and
continues in the present day. Through training these animals are prepared to assist
the visually impaired. But the greatest difficulty in acquiring such an animal is the high
cost of training and a lack of adequate nutrition for these animals. These animals help
the disabled on a daily basis and for this they need a good nutritional support, in case
it does not happen in many dogs, where the obesity index among these animals is
very great due to the feeding control of the same ones. And obesity is a very serious
problem that will affect the functions of these animals. In this way the objective of this
work was to insert exercises besides hypocaloric diets in routine dog guides. The work
was carried out in Kennel Club of the state of Pernambuco. Seven animals were used,
6 guide dogs and 1 breeding dog. It was possible to observe the decrease of the weight
of the animals during the weeks, when adding the walk, jokes and interactions between
them. It can thus conclude that the use of these tools are important means to assist in
weight reduction of the animals.
