Coma e UTI: Políticas da Vida
Como existem muitas dúvidas em relação ao que ocorre com o paciente em coma, precisamos aprender outros meios de percebê-los. O presente artigo busca evidenciar que atualmente estudos sobre o estado de coma buscam “novas” possibilidades, ou seja, terapias nunca experimentadas para acessar os pacientes nesse estado. Essa atitude vem na contramão da hegemonia dos biopoderes presentes nas instituições totais relatadas por Goffman (2010) relacionada aqui especificamente ao texto de Dunker (2014) em paralelo a UTI. A minha proposta de trabalho consiste em estudar a comunicação do paciente em coma por meio do estudo das manifestações fisiológicas dos pacientes na unidade de terapia intensiva e suas possíveis respostas comunicativas por meio do estímulo olfativo.

Abstract:
As there are many doubts about what happens to the patient in a coma, we need to learn other ways to notice them. This article seeks to show that currently studies on the state of coma seek “new” possibilities - therapies never tried to access patients in that state. This attitude goes against the hegemony of biopowers present in the total institutions reported by Goffman (2010) related in specifically to Dunker's text (2014) in parallel to the ICU. My work proposal consists of studying the communication of the patient in a coma through the study of the physiological manifestations of the patients in the intensive care unit and their possible communicative responses through the olfactory stimulus.
