COLEÇÃO ZOOLÓGICA DA PONTIFÍCIA UNIVERSIDADE CATÓLICA DE CAMPINAS (PUC-CAMPINAS): HISTÓRICO E ACERVO ATUAL
O objetivo do presente estudo foi conhecer o histórico, iniciar a curadoria e inventariar alguns taxa da coleção zoológica da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas (PUC-Campinas). Para tanto, os integrantes do Programa de Educação Tutorial da Faculdade de Ciências Biológicas (PET-Biologia) organizaram e participaram de vários cursos de capacitação preparatórios e pesquisaram sobre o histórico da coleção. Durante a curadoria, foram transcorridos diversos encontros nos quais os petianos puderam trabalhar com organização, limpeza e tombamento de alguns grupos, aprendendo a utilizar cadernos de tombo e etiquetas de identificação. A coleção zoológica completou 45 anos em 2020 e apresenta um rico acervo com espécimes coletados em diversas partes do mundo. Ao todo, os petianos identificaram nove filos principais com espécimes preservados em via úmida, seca ou diafanizados. Foi realizada a curadoria na Coleção Entomológica, a qual contém as seguintes ordens: Hymenoptera, Homoptera, Blattaria, Orthoptera, Hemiptera, Odonata, Diptera, Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, Neuroptera e Phasmatodea. A partir das ações práticas, os petianos puderam perceber que a curadoria deve ser contínua, e para isso, exige muita dedicação e trabalho em equipe. Ao compartilhar o histórico e inventário inicial, espera-se que os atuais e futuros alunos sintam-se sensibilizados, compreendam, valorizem e cuidem de cada espécime depositado. Espera-se também que as atividades desenvolvidas possam servir de base para outras instituições interessadas em iniciar e manter coleções zoológicas.

Abstract:
The aim of this study is to know the history, start curation and list some taxa of the zoological collection of the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (PUC-Campinas). To achieve this goal, students from the Tutorial Education Program of the Faculty of Biological Sciences organized and participated in several preparatory training courses and researched the collection's history. During curation, several meetings were held with these students in order to demonstrate how to organize, clean, and catalog specimens using specific notebooks and identification labels. The zoological collection completed 45 years in 2020 and has specimens from various localities worldwide. The students identified nine main phyla with specimens in a liquid preservative (e.g., alcohol), dried or diaphanized. Curation actions were carried out in the following orders of the Entomological Collection: Hymenoptera, Homoptera, Blattaria, Orthoptera, Hemiptera, Odonata, Diptera, Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, Neuroptera, and Phasmatodea. Through these actions, the students were able to understand that the curation must be continuous as well as requiring a lot of dedication and teamwork. Revealing this history and the initial collection listing, it is expected to raise awareness among current and future students in relation to the value and importance of each specimen cataloged. It is also expected that the curation actions developed can be the basis for other institutions interested in starting and maintaining zoological collections.
