Abstract: This article sought to present the role of cinema as a teaching material for students in the Editorial Production course, based on the audiovisuals “Almost Famous” and “Sex and the City”, bringing the relationship between the course and film productions, showing how social communication is inserted in them, whether on or off screen. Within the scope of a qualitative and exploratory research, it was investigated, through a theoretical approach and focusing on film and documentary analysis, how the main themes inserted in audiovisuals, both in their productions and in their plots, can be present in the classroom, with the intention of enhancing the field of editorial production, proposing a new perspective for teachers and students of the course, helping in education, teaching and in the professional future of the student. The article concluded that both the film and the series are teaching sources, and can be applied in a classroom, a cinematic work to be analyzed for more than its plot, but rather for its characters, its productions and their experiences through how it was made until reaching the final result.
