CIDADES SUSTENTÁVEIS: ESTUDO DOS INDICADORES DA CIDADE DE JOÃO PESSOA – PB
O artigo busca identificar se há e quais são os indicadores utilizados pela cidade de João Pessoa para se adequar à noção de sustentabilidade que emerge na década de 1980 e se consolida com os Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) no âmbito da Agenda 2030. A pesquisa é qualitativa e exploratória e as técnicas utilizadas são a análise bibliográfica e documental para compor um estudo de caso. Como resultado, identificou-se 117 indicadores desenvolvidos pela metodologia da Iniciativa de Cidades Emergentes e Sustentáveis (ICES) que se adequam com os frameworks adotados a nível internacional e que são compatíveis com o ODS 11 que trata de cidades e comunidades sustentáveis. O framework adotado por João Pessoa é semelhante aos dos demais ao redor do mundo. Ao comparar os indicadores desenvolvidos pela metodologia ICES com o ODS 11, verifica-se que todas as metas elencadas nesse ODS têm aspectos que são passíveis de mensuração pelos indicadores criados pela metodologia ICES.

Abstract:
The article seeks to identify if there are and what are the indicators used by the city of João Pessoa to fit the notion of sustainability that emerges in the 1980s and consolidates with the Sustainable Development Objectives (ODS) within the scope of Agenda 2030. The research is qualitative and exploratory and the techniques used are the bibliographical and documentary analysis to compose a case study. As a result, we identified 117 indicators developed by the Emerging and Sustainable Cities Initiative (ICES) methodology that are in line with the internationally adopted frameworks that are compatible with ODS 11 that addresses sustainable cities and communities. The framework adopted by João Pessoa is similar to the ones around the world. When comparing the indicators developed by the ICES methodology with the ODS 11, it is verified that all the goals listed in this ODS have aspects that are measurable by the indicators created by the ICES methodology.
