Abstract: Introduction: The practice of physical exercise using stationary bicycles increased by only 16% over a 7-year period. This is, even though among individuals who practice physical activity regularly, many look for a stationary cycling program, because it is easy to execute and allows adequate control of the applied load. Objective: to evaluate the behavior of systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and heart rate (HR) of healthy and pre-hypertensive individuals in a training program lasting sixty days and twice a week. Methods: Two groups were formed, the first consisting of 30 healthy adults, 50% women with an average age of 27.8 + 4.6 years and 50% men with an average age of 29.3 + 5.1 years, the second composed of 30 prehypertensive adults, 40% women with a mean age of 28.3 + 8.5 years and 60% men with a mean age of 30.2 + 6.2 years, two groups were selected using the PAR questionnaires Q and usual and cardiological assessment using the Astrand protocol. 30 healthy adults, women with a mean age of 27.8 + 4.6 and men with a mean age of 29.3 + 5.1; 30 prehypertensive adults, by women with a mean age of 28.3 + 8.5 years and men with a mean age of 30.2 + 6.2. The variables SBP, DBP and HR were measured during rest, at 20 minutes of training (considered the peak of the class) and during cooling down (after 5 minutes). Results: A significant reduction in SBP was observed in the group of healthy individuals at rest, during cooling, and at all stages of the class in pre-hypertensive individuals. PAD showed a significant reduction in all stages of the class in both groups. Conclusion: The Spinning® method can be considered an effective method for reducing blood pressure in pre-hypertensive individuals.
