Abstract: The aging of the global population makes Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) an increasingly pressing public health concern. This article delivers a comprehensive and updated review of the most significant advancements in the treatment of AMD, spanning a range of therapeutic and diagnostic approaches. The article delves into the details of anti-VEGF-based therapies, emerging opportunities in gene therapy, the potential of nutritional supplements, and advancements in diagnostic imaging technology. The review aims to provide a complete overview of available treatments, as well as to highlight the challenges that still need to be addressed to optimize the effectiveness and accessibility of these interventions.
