Abstract: The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) epidemic, which began in 1981, continues to be one of the main sources of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Currently, there are many efforts to update therapeutic strategies for treatments or to elucidate a permanent cure. Thus, the present work aims to provide a systematic review on the use of stem cells in the permanent cure of the HIV virus and potential difficulties in its mass application. There are, as specific objectives, the intention of surveying and analysing current therapies applied to the HIV virus, with data obtained through official government channels and other articles, as well as its mechanism of infection and its prevalence in Brazil and worldwide. A qualitative analysis of literary review data based on online surveys on digital platforms is proposed, review articles being synthesized and applied, between the years 2010 and 2022, national and international (English). Stem cells have a high regenerative capacity and cell replacement, as well as the homozygosity of the gene responsible for the membrane protein of TCD4+ lymphocytes, CCR5 and transplantation of these cells as a permanent cure for the infection are viable and flexible possibilities. Furthermore, this work highlights immunogenetic therapy as an essential part of scientific medical evolution in recent progress related to HIV infection.
