CELING (CENTRO DE LÍNGUAS DE MARECHAL CÂNDIDO RONDON): ENTRE DIÁLOGOS INTERCULTURAIS NA CONTEMPORANEIDADE E A INTERNACIONALIZAÇÃO DA UNIVERSIDADE
O CELing, e cursos a ele
vinculados, alemão, espanhol, inglês e francês,
visam atender a demanda por cursos de
idiomas da comunidade interna e externa da
UNIOESTE- campus de Marechal Cândido
Rondon. O centro de línguas enquadra-se
como Projeto de Extensão pela instituição e
os cursos ofertados também vinculam-se a
atividades extensionistas, demonstrando que
a Universidade atende à demanda pelo ensino,
pesquisa e extensão, que formam a base
do ensino. O Centro de Línguas reconhece
a importância do conhecimento de idiomas
estrangeiros em nossa sociedade, e o processo
de internacionalização por que a sociedade
científica e acadêmica vem passando. Dessa
forma, o CeLing busca promover políticas
linguísticas (ALTENHOFEN, 2013) inclusivas
e a comunicação intercultural (KRAMSCH,
2011), por meio da oferta de cursos de línguas
e de exames de proficiência, bem como o
acesso a esses. Trata-se, portanto, de uma
iniciativa de grande impacto social, voltada à
democratização do conhecimento, à valorização
da diversidade linguística e à abertura de campo
de trabalho, estágio, pesquisa e extensão. No
presente capítulo começamos por apresentar
brevemente a consolidação do Centro de
Línguas, sua proposta e contexto de atuação.
Em um segundo momento, abordamos as ações
do Centro e cada um dos projetos vinculados
a ele. Por último, apresentamos os resultados
alcançados até o momento, delineando as
perspectivas de futuras ações.

Abstract:
The Language Center (CeLing)
and its courses: German, Spanish, English and
French, aims at fulfilling the internal and external UNIOESTE community’s demands
of languages courses in the campus of Marechal Cândido Rondon. The Language
Center is an Extension Project and its courses are considered extension activities.
In this sense, they evidence that the University meets the teaching, research and
extension demands which, in turn, constitute the teaching basis. The Language Center
recognizes both: the relevant role played by foreign languages in our society, as well
as the internationalization prominence faced by the scientific and academic fields.
This way, CeLing aims at promoting inclusive linguistic polices (ALTENHOFEN, 2013)
and the intercultural communication (KRAMSCH, 2011) by offering language courses
and proficiency tests. Therefore, the Center is an initiative that impacts the community
significantly since it is turned to: the democratization of knowledge, the valuing of
linguistic democratization, the creation of working field, teacher training, research, and
extension. In the present chapter we start by briefly presenting the consolidation of the
Language Center, its proposal and the contextualization of its activities. Secondly, we
explore both: the actions of the Center and of each of its projects. Then we present the
preliminary results reached so far, outlining perspectives for future actions.
