CAUSALIDADE E ELASTICIDADE DE TRANSMISSÃO DE PREÇO DE SUÍNOS EM TERMINAÇÃO ENTRE MERCADOS BRASILEIROS
A cooperação entre indústria e
produtores é essencial na composição do
mercado de carne suinícola, neste seguimento à
indústria fornece material e suporte ao produtor,
realiza o transporte, o abate e a comercialização/
exportação, sendo que a região sul do Brasil
possui a maior concentração de rebanho
suinícola. Esse crescimento é notado quando
se analisa os vários indicadores econômicos
e sociais, como volume de exportações,
participação no mercado mundial, número
de empregos diretos e indiretos, entre outros.
Como a análise dos preços é um dos principais
instrumentos que influencia o planejamento
da produção agrícola, este estudo tem por
objetivo analisar a elasticidade de transmissão
de preços do suíno em terminação no mercado
do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, Santa
Catarina, Paraná e São Paulo. A partir dos
dados de preços do suíno em terminação nas
regiões estudadas verificou-se a existência de
causalidade Granger. E pelo modelo Vetorial de
Correções de Erros (VEC) foi possível mensurar
a intensidade da transmissão de preços entre
os mercados analisados. Constatou-se que a
maior intensidade de transmissão de preços em
termos percentuais foi do mercado de suínos
em terminação do estado do Rio Grande do Sul
para Santa Catarina e São Paulo.

Abstract:
Cooperation between industry
and producers is essential in the composition
of the pigmeat market. In this follow-up to the
industry it supplies material and support to the
producer, carries out the transport, slaughter
and commercialization/export, being the south
of Brazil with the highest concentration of pig
herd. This growth is noticed when analyzing the
various economic and social indicators, such as
export volume, participation in the world market, number of direct and indirect jobs,
among others. As the price analysis is one of the main instruments that influences
agricultural production planning, this study aims to analyze the price elasticity of
transmission of finishing pigs in the market in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa
Catarina, Paraná and São Paulo. From the price data of finishing pigs in the regions
studied, we verified the Granger causality. And the Vector Error Correction model
(VEC), it was possible to measure the intensity of the transmission of prices between
the analyzed markets. It was verified that the highest intensity of price transmission in
percentage terms was of the finishing pigs market of the state of Rio Grande do Sul for
Santa Catarina and São Paulo.
