CARTOGRAFIA SOCIAL DA PAISAGEM CULTURAL DO MUNICÍPIO DE IRAQUARA - BA: subsídios para o planejamento territorial participativo
O artigo é o resultado da pesquisa
desenvolvida no Programa de Pós-Graduação
em Planejamento Territorial da Universidade
Estadual de Feira de Santana-BA no período de
2014 a 2016, cujo objetivo foi identificar os bens
culturais do município de Iraquara - BA a partir da
abordagem teórico-metodológica da Paisagem
Cultural associada à Cartografia Social e
às metodologias da pesquisa participativa.
Buscou-se estabelecer o processo de (re)
construção das memórias e vivências coletivas
do grupo social formado pelos moradores
locais organizados na Associação Iraquarense
dos Condutores Turísticos. Ao atenderem o
convite da pesquisa, o grupo social tornou-se
o autor da Cartografia proposta. O município de
Iraquara, localizado no Território de Identidade
da Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, foi selecionado
por apresentar uma diversidade de paisagens
onde estão inseridas as dimensões naturais,
materiais e imateriais da cultura, desde o
registro arqueológico presente nos sítios de
arte rupestre, na celebração dos Ternos de
Reis, na Estrada Real, testemunho do apogeu
econômico da região à época do garimpo de
diamantes e da relação simbólica do grupo
pesquisado com os elementos da paisagem
natural constituído por cavernas e pelas águas
nelas existentes. As referências culturais
indicadas pelo grupo foram representadas por
meio de mapas temáticos consensuais aliando
os conhecimentos tradicionais do grupo às
técnicas do Sistema de Informação Geográfica
Participativo (SIGP’s). Os resultados obtidos
permitiram a construção de um instrumento
de planejamento territorial que evidenciou e
legitimou o valor histórico, simbólico e dinâmico
da paisagem cultural, a partir do olhar desses
sujeitos.

Abstract:
This article is the result of research
undertaken between 2014 and 2016 at the Postgraduate
Programme in Territorial Planning of
the State University of Feira de Santana, in
Bahia. Its aim was to identify the cultural goods
of the Iraquara municipality in Bahia, based on
the theoretical and methodological approach of Culture Landscape, associated with
Social Cartography and participatory research methods. We sought to establish a
process for the (re)construction of the collective memories and experiences of a social
group formed of organized local residents from the Iraquarense Association of Tourist
Operators. By accepting the research invitation, the social group became the author
of the cartography. The municipality of Iraquara, located in the Identity Territory of
the Chapada Diamantina in Baha, was selected because it contains a diversity of
landscape that includes natural, material and immaterial cultural aspects, ranging from
archaeological records in rock art sites, the Three Kings celebration and the Estrada
Real, testament to the region’s economic heyday, to the age of diamond panning
and the group’s symbolic relationship with natural landscape elements consisting
of caves and the waters within them. The cultural references indicated by the group
were represented through consensual thematic maps, allying the group’s traditional
knowledge with Participatory Geographic Information Systems (PGIS). The results
enabled the construction of a territorial planning instrument that provided evidence of
and legitimated the cultural landscape’s historical, symbolic and dynamic value, based
on the view of these subjects.
