Abstract: This article aims to review the scientific literature on disruptions in care flow when using emergency carts, analyzing their impact on protocol standardization and patient safety. The methodology used was a systematic literature review, with consultations in the scientific databases PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, using the terms "emergency cart," "care flow," "patient safety," and "hospital protocols." The selected articles were critically analyzed to compile information on the main failures in emergency cart management and their clinical consequences. The results show that disruptions in care flow are often associated with a lack of ongoing training, lack of protocol standardization, failures in material replenishment and organization, and poor communication between multidisciplinary teams. These factors can compromise rapid response in critical situations, increasing the risk of adverse events and decreasing the effectiveness of care. In conclusion, the safe and efficient use of emergency carts depends on the integration of clear protocols, ongoing team training, and systematic monitoring of care flow. Further studies, especially clinical and observational studies, are needed to identify effective strategies for preventing errors and strengthening safety culture. This topic represents a current challenge for healthcare services, requiring constant attention to ensure quality care and patient protection in urgent and emergency situations.
