Cardiomiopatia por Estresse: decifrando a Síndrome de Takotsubo e seus impactos cardiovasculares

• Abstract: Introduction: A recent study described the condition of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, also known as broken heart syndrome, as a temporary and reversible cardiac event that resembles an acute coronary syndrome. This neurocardiac condition is characterized by the absence of arterial obstruction during examinations and presents symptoms similar to those of acute myocardial infarction. Takotsubo cardiomyopathy has been linked to traumatic events such as earthquakes, and an increase in cases has been reported following the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A comprehensive literature review was carried out on Stress Heart Disease, resulting in the identification of relevant studies for this review. The results were synthesized narratively, excluding articles outside the established period or that were not available in full. The study did not require ethical approval as it did not directly involve human subjects. Results: TTS is triggered by stressful events and presents symptoms similar to acute myocardial infarction. Mortality can be similar to a heart attack, especially in situations of significant stress, such as the pandemic. Early identification and appropriate management, along with psychological support, are essential for favorable results. Conclusions: Early recognition and accurate distinction from other cardiac conditions are essential to avoid complications. The COVID-19 pandemic highlights the importance of psychosocial factors in diagnosis and treatment. More studies are needed to better understand the disease and develop effective therapeutic approaches. Integrating psychological and cardiovascular care is essential, especially during global crises
