Abstract: The Carcinoma Squamous Cell (CEC) is the most common malignant neoplasia in the oral cavity and it is characterized by nodular and ulcerated injuries, normally erythematous and whitish in color. It mostly affects men, after their fifth decade of life, and its main risk factors are the use of tobacco and alcoholic beverages. The objective of this work is to present one case of CEC in the lower alveolar ridge, a place of little prevalence for this pathology, since the identification of the complaint, diagnosis, complementary exams and referral for treatment, in addition to review the literature on the subject. A 68-year-old white male patient, who used a lower denture prosthesis and had been a smoker for over 50 years, was referred to the dental clinic complaining of a nodular lesion in the lower left alveolar ridge, noted by the patient one month ago. After clinical and complementary exams, a malignant lesion was suspected. The incisional biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of CEC and the patient was then referred for treatment with an oncologist. The same goes well, in follow-up, after the end of the resection, chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment. The fast diagnosis and immediate treatment can favor a better prognosis, with a longer survival time and less morbidity for the patient.
