CARACTERIZAÇÃO DA RETÍCULO PERITONITE TRAUMÁTICA NA BOVINOCULTURA SEMI INTENSIVA NO DISTRITO FEDERAL: RELATO DE CASO
A retículo pericardite traumática (RPT) decorre de um trauma associado a perfuração do retículo e pericárdio, e é uma enfermidade comumente relatada em bovinos adultos, devido à baixa seletividade alimentar apresentada por esses animais. Ao serem ingeridos, os corpos estranhos perfurantes podem causar traumas no trato gastrointestinal (TGI) e atingir o pericárdio, desencadeando uma RPT. O objetivo deste estudo é relatar um caso de retículo pericardite traumática em um bovino adulto que apresentava inicialmente de apatia, pirexia, hiporexia e evoluindo para anorexia, prostração intensa e acentuado edema de barbela, relutância em caminhar, decúbito esternal. Mesmo com o tratamento houve piora do estado geral do animal e diante da situação foi optado pela eutanásia. À necropsia foi observado, no retículo, estrutura metálica linear (fragmento de arame) perfurando cranialmente o órgão e atingindo diafragma pericárdio. No coração, o saco pericárdico encontrava-se repleto de exsudato purulento, e o músculo cardíaco apresentava perfuração de aproximadamente 0,2 cm de diâmetro na região ventricular direito e grande quantidade de fibrina no epicárdico. Abstract:
Traumatic pericarditis reticulum (TPR) results from a trauma associated with perforation of the reticulum and pericardium, and is a disease commonly reported in adult cattle, due to the low food selectivity presented by these animals. Ingested perforating foreign bodies can cause trauma to the gastrointestinal tract and reach the pericardium, triggering a TPR. The aim of this study is to report a case of traumatic pericarditis reticulum in an adult bovine with an initial clinical condition of apathy, pyrexia, hyporexia and progressing to anorexia, intense prostration and accentuated dewlap edema, reluctance to walk, sternal decubitus. Even with the treatment, there was a worsening of the animal general condition and, given the situation, euthanasia was chosen. At necropsy, a linear metallic structure (wire fragment) was observed in the reticle, cranially perforating the organ and reaching the pericardial diaphragm. In the heart, the pericardial sac was filled with purulent exudate, and the cardiac muscle had a perforation of approximately 0.2 cm in diameter in the right ventricular region and a large amount of fibrin in the epicardium. The traumatic pericarditis reticulum observed in the animal in the report may be associated with the type of breeding in which it was submitted, feeding, sex and location
