Abstract: Tachigali vulgaris L.G. Silva & H.C. Lima is a tree species of the Fabaceae family, widely distributed in the Amazon, Cerrado, and Caatinga biomes. It possesses pioneering characteristics: it is heliophilous, hardy, and highly ecologically plastic, thriving in poor, acidic soils. It stands out for its economic value and is not suitable for use in the restoration of degraded areas. Therefore, considering the Tachigali vulgaris potential, this chapter aims to present a comprehensive and multidisciplinary overview of this Amazonian species, addressing botanical, ecological, silvicultural, genetic, and socioeconomic aspects. The aim is to highlight its importance in the structure and dynamics of tropical forests, its potential for reforestation programs and agroforestry systems, as well as its value for biodiversity conservation and the sustainable development of the Amazon region. By bringing together different scientific perspectives, the aim is to contribute to strengthening knowledge about this strategic species and promoting integrated research, management, and preservation actions.
