Abstract: This study of the use of educational technology in the Faculty of Human Medicine, during the COVID-19 confinement, was carried out under a quantitative and qualitative approach. Through interviews, records and questionnaires applied to the students of the first module of the Medical Surgeon study program, in the first phase it was possible to explore the factors and criteria of the digital tools used, as part of the didactic strategies for the implementation of the Educational Technology project implemented in this phase of the contingency. In a second phase, it was possible to propose the characteristics of the school context that influence said selection of educational technologies. The results show that digital tools are considered an ally for both teachers and students, in terms of the development of study programs supported by educational technology, through programs based on the competency model, and applying based learning. in projects (ABP), which integrated into an amalgamation of strategies and tools, constitute a valuable resource that supports the teaching-learning process to face the current challenges of education from the traditional to the virtual mode.
