Abstract: Introduction: The construction industry is considered to be the branch of activity that most exposes workers to the risk of developing skin cancer. Because they work in the open air, they are constantly exposed to the main risk factor for this disease, which is solar radiation. Objective: To analyze the relevance of prevention practices adopted by workers and the role of the occupational health and safety team within this context. Methodology: Reflective theoretical essay, based on the discursive formulation of the theme, based on national and international scientific literature on the subject under study. Results and Discussion: The occupational health and safety team plays an essential role in prevention, promoting education about risks, advising on protective measures and monitoring occupational health, thus contributing to a safer and healthier working environment. Conclusion: Multiprofessional work contributes to disseminating appropriate information and changing workers' behavior, both in terms of adopting preventive methods and reducing the risk factors related to exposure to skin cancer.
