CAMINHOS PARA A IGUALDADE: A IMPORTÂNCIA DA DISSEMINAÇÃO DOS DIREITOS SOCIAIS DE MULHERES COM CÂNCER DE MAMA

Introdução: O câncer de mama é uma das principais causas de mortalidade entre as mulheres, sendo um problema de saúde pública que transcende a dimensão biomédica e envolve desafios sociais, econômicos, étnicos e de gênero. Apesar da existência de Políticas Públicas e diretrizes legais que asseguram direitos sociais e benefícios às mulheres diagnosticadas com câncer de mama, muitas mulheres desconhecem seus direitos ou enfrentam dificuldades para acessá-los, comprometendo assim a efetividade de políticas sociais e políticas de saúde em prol ao benefício dessas mulheres, exacerbando ainda mais as vulnerabilidades já enfrentadas por essa população. Nesse sentido, estudos que descrevem os direitos sociais das mulheres com câncer de mama é fundamental para o fortalecimento dos direitos, da equidade no acesso à saúde e proteção social dessa população. Objetivo: Discorrer sobre a importância da disseminação dos direitos sociais das mulheres diagnosticadas com câncer de mama. Método: Foi realizado um estudo do tipo revisão narrativa da literatura, embasada em materiais científicos e de instituições internacional e nacionalmente renomadas que 2024 que abordam políticas públicas, assistência social e direitos das mulheres com câncer de mama. A coleta de dados foi realizada em bases científicas, utilizando descritores como “câncer de mama”, “direitos sociais” e “proteção social”. Foram analisados materiais que descrevem políticas públicas e direitos sociais das mulheres com câncer de mama, além de estudos que discutem as desigualdades no acesso, os benefícios legais, impactos do suporte social e estratégias de disseminação da informação. Resultados: A análise da literatura evidencia que, embora existam legislações que garantam acesso ao tratamento e benefícios sociais voltados as mulheres com câncer de mama, muitas pacientes desconhecem seus direitos ou enfrentam dificuldades burocráticas para acessá-los. Evidenciando assim, barreiras significativas que indicam um distanciamento entre os direitos sociais e sua concretização, especialmente para mulheres em situação de vulnerabilidade social, com necessidade de ter mais estratégias de disseminação dos direitos adaptadas às diversidades socioculturais. Conclusão: A disseminação de informações sobre direitos sociais deve ser incorporada às Políticas Públicas, garantindo que todas as pacientes tenham acesso a benefícios assistenciais. Mas para isso, é fundamental investir em estratégias de comunicação acessíveis e culturalmente adaptadas, com potencial de promover o empoderamento das mulheres e a equidade no cuidado. Somente com estratégias para disseminação dos direitos sociais, como instrumento de cidadania, é que será possível reduzir assimetrias e assegurar dignidade às mulheres em tratamento oncológico.

  • Abstract: Introduction: Breast cancer is one of the main causes of mortality among women, whichis a public health problem that transcends the biomedical dimension and involves social, economic, ethnic and gender challenges. Despite the existence of Public Policies and legal guidelines that ensure social rights and benefits for women diagnosed with breast cancer, many women are unaware of their rights or face difficulties in accessing them, thus compromising the effectiveness of social and health policies for the benefit of these women, further exacerbating the vulnerabilities already faced by this population. In this sense, studies that describe the social rights of women with breast cancer are essential to strengthen the rights, equity in access to health and social protection of this population. Objective: To discuss the importance of disseminating the social rights of women diagnosed with breast cancer. Method: A narrative review of the literature was carried out, based on scientific materials and from internationally and nationally renowned institutions that address public policies, social assistance and the rights of women with breast cancer. Data collection was performed on scientific bases, using descriptors such as “breast cancer”, “social rights” and “social protection”. Materials describing public policies and social rights of women with breast cancer were analyzed, as well as studies discussing inequalities in access, legal benefits, impacts of social support and information dissemination strategies. Results: The analysis of the literature shows that, although there are laws that guarantee access to treatment and social benefits for women with breast cancer, many patients are unaware of their rights or face bureaucratic difficulties in accessing them. Thus, highlighting significant barriers that indicate a gap between social rights and their implementation, especially for women in situations of social vulnerability, with the need for more strategies to disseminate rights adapted to sociocultural diversity. Conclusion: The dissemination of information on social rights should be incorporated into Public Policies, ensuring that all patients have access to welfare benefits. However, to achieve this, it is essential to invest in accessible and culturally adapted communication strategies, with the potential to promote women's empowerment and equity in care. Only with strategies to disseminate social rights, as an instrument of citizenship, will it be possible to reduce asymmetries and ensure dignity for women undergoing cancer treatment.
