BURNOUT: UM ESTUDO SOBRE A SÍNDROME NOS DOCENTES DO ENSINO SUPERIOR
Este estudo buscou identificar a prevalência da Síndrome de Burnout nos professores dos cursos de graduação e descrever a percepção do profissional em relação a influência da síndrome em suas atividades laborais e sociais. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo de abordagem quanti-qualitativa que teve como público alvo 103 docentes de uma instituição particular de ensino superior. Dos 103 participantes investigados, 53 (51%) vivenciavam alguma fase da síndrome de burnout. Assim, observou-se que a síndrome ainda é pouco conhecida pelos profissionais da educação, porém estes apresentam estratégias que ajudam a diminuir o índice de estresse ocupacional elevado. Nesse sentido, ressalta-se a importância de atentar para a saúde do professor com vistas à intervenção precoce.

Abstract:
This study aimed to identify the prevalence of Burnout Syndrome in undergraduate teachers and to describe the professional's perception regarding the influence of the syndrome on their work and social activities. This is a descriptive quantitative-qualitative study that had as a target audience 103 teachers from a private institution of higher education. Of the 103 participants investigated, 53 (51%) experienced some stage of the burnout syndrome. Thus, it was observed that the syndrome is still little known by education professionals, but these present strategies that help reduce the high rate of occupational stress. In this sense, the importance of attending to the health of the teacher with a view to early intervention is emphasized
