Abstract: In the school context, bullying has gained intensity because it is a form of violence that has major consequences for the victims. The forms in which this type of violence occurs are verbal, physical, social exclusion, social disruption and violence from the teaching staff; both the academic environment and the family environment are the main spaces to promote the development and training of emotional intelligence, which leads to reflection on the emotional situation in which the harasser and the harassed victim find themselves. Therefore, the objective of this research study was to determine the relationship that exists between bullying and emotional intelligence of the students of an educational institution of primary education in the region Puno - Peru. The methodology used corresponds to the type of descriptive correlational research, non-experimental design with a quantitative approach. The population was 205 sixth grade primary school students, with a stratified sample of 134; to whom two instruments were applied, the 36-item CUVE 3-EP questionnaire to evaluate bullying and the 60-item emotional intelligence questionnaire. The results indicate the existence of a low (66.4%) and moderate (27.6%) level of bullying and a low level of emotional intelligence (72.4%), and there are moderate positive correlations between the dimensions of bullying and emotional intelligence: verbal violence (rs=0.40), physical violence (rs=0.489), social exclusion (rs=0.481), social disruption (rs=0.493) and teaching staff violence (rs=0.481). It is concluded that there is a considerable positive correlation (rho = 0.508) between bullying and emotional intelligence in primary education students, that is, they perceive low levels of bullying in their academicenvironment, at the same time they maintain low levels of emotional intelligence. because they have limited resources for self-awareness, self-control, self-motivation, empathy and social skills.
