BREVE HISTÓRICO DA HANSENÍASE: DIAGNÓSTICO E TRATAMENTO
Mesmo fazendo parte do sofrimento humano desde a antiguidade, a
hanseníase teve sua identidade etiológica descoberta apenas ao final do século XIX,
quando o médico norueguês Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, ao analisar material
de lesões cutâneas, descobriu o bacilo causador pertencente aothem gênero das
micobacterias. Considera-se uma doença infecto-contagiosa com predileção pelas
células formadora da bainha de mielina e pele. É transmitida pelas vias aéreas
superiores e por contato direto dos portadores não tratados com seus comunicantes,
os esquemas terapêuticos indicados tem apresentado sucesso na cura da doença.
O presente estudo realça como objetivo geral um breve histórico da hanseníase,
com destaque nas manifestações clínicas no diagnóstico e tratamento. A
metodologia utilizada para elaboração deste foi um levantamento aleatório de artigos
relacionados à temática selecionada em bibliotecas físicas e virtuais. Esta revisão
procurou resgatar um breve histórico da hanseníase, com vistas às manifestações
clínicas, diagnóstico e tratamento.

Abstract:
Even though it was part of human suffering since antiquity, leprosy had
its etiological identity discovered only at the end of the 19th century, when the
Norwegian physician Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, when analyzing material of
cutaneous lesions, discovered the causative bacillus belonging to the genus of
mycobacteria . It is considered an infectious-contagious disease with predilection for
the cells forming the myelin sheath and skin. It is transmitted through the upper
airways and through direct contact of the untreated carriers with their communicants,
the indicated therapeutic schemes have been successful in curing the disease. The
present study highlights as a general objective a brief history of leprosy, with
emphasis on diagnosis and treatment in the last decades in Brazil. The methodology
used to prepare this study was a random survey of articles related to the selected
theme in physical and virtual libraries. This review sought to recover a brief history of
leprosy, with a view to clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment.
