As early as between the ages of 20 and 30, individuals begin to notice the appearance of expression lines, wrinkles, and skin spots, leading them to adopt habits or seek procedures aimed at delaying the aging process. Currently, the use of botulinum toxin, popularly known as Botox, is the most performed aesthetic procedure worldwide. In this context, the present review aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the preventive application of botulinum toxin in slowing down the signs of skin aging in young patients, with a focus on its physiological and aesthetic effects, as well as its potential long-term benefits. For this purpose, a literature review was conducted based on recent studies published in the last five years on the subject. The findings suggest that Botox is effective in slowing the signs of skin aging in young patients, playing an important role not only in correction but also in prevention. However, its preventive use must be carried out responsibly, respecting clinical indications, the risks associated with long-term use, and the individual profile of each patient.
