Abstract: Root rot caused by Fusarium equiseti is a recurring obstacle in grapevine seedling production, especially in systems seeking to reduce dependence on chemical inputs. This chapter discusses the combined use of Trichoderma aureoviride URM 6668 and Trichoderma aureoviride URM 3734, with or without biochar obtained from grapevine pruning, as a biological management strategy for this disease. The interaction between biochar and Trichoderma spp. consistently reduced the severity of root rot, accompanied by increases in plant growth and improvements in soil quality attributes. The combination of Trichoderma aureoviride URM 3734 with biochar stood out for its greater efficiency in suppressing the disease, while Trichoderma aureoviride URM 6668, when combined with biochar, showed a greater effect on plant development. Taken together, the results show that the integration of biochar and Trichoderma spp. contributes to the modulation of soil-plant-pathogen interactions, representing a promising approach for the sustainable management of grapevine root rot.
