BIBLIOTECA PÚBLICA MUNICIPAL PREFEITO PRESTES MAIA: PROJETO DO ARQUITETO LUIZ AUGUSTO BERTACCHI EM SANTO AMARO – SP
O objetivo desta pesquisa é de estudar o projeto do edifício da Biblioteca Pública Municipal Prefeito Prestes Maia, antiga Presidente Kennedy, e o autor do projeto, o arquiteto Luiz Augusto Bertacchi. Os procedimentos metodológicos empregados se apoiaram em fontes secundárias e principalmente nas primárias, como levantamentos “in loco” e de acervos particulares, para se constituir efetiva contribuição para a bibliografia sobre o edifício e seu arquiteto, bem como do entorno imediato: a Praça Marcos Manzini. Após o redesenho foram desenvolvidas as análises gráficas do projeto, fundamentadas em quesitos propostos por Ching (2013) e Clark e Pause (1996): estrutura; luz natural; circulação e área útil; simetria e equilíbrio; geometria e o contexto. Os resultados destacam as concepções que regem o projeto de arquitetura de Bertacchi, se tornando um documento importante devido a parca historiografia sobre a obra e o autor.

Abstract:
The objective of this research is to study the project of the building of the Municipal Public Library Mayor Prestes Maia, former President Kennedy, and the author of the project, the architect Luiz Augusto Bertacchi. The methodological procedures used were based on secondary sources and mainly on primary sources, such as surveys “in loco” and private collections, in order to constitute an effective contribution to the bibliography on the building and its architect, as well as the immediate surroundings: Praça Marcos Manzini. After the redesign, graphic analyzes of the project were developed, based on topics proposed by Ching (2013) and Clark; Pause (1996): structure; natural light; circulation and useful area; symmetry and balance; geometry and context. The results highlight the conceptions that conduct Bertacchi's architectural project, becoming an important document due to the limited historiography about the work and the author.
