Abstract: Addressing the growing prevalence and complexity of erectile dysfunction (ED), this article provides a comprehensive review of the recent advancements in its treatment, emphasizing the necessity of a holistic and tailored approach for each patient. We examine the continued preference for phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5i) as the frontline therapy, while also exploring the potential of emerging innovative therapies, including low-intensity shock wave therapy (LI-ESWT), cell therapy, and psychological interventions. The review underscores the critical importance of understanding the specific causes of ED and individual patient preferences in order to optimize treatment efficacy and enhance clinical outcomes.
