BENEFÍCIOS DA VENTILAÇÃO MECÂNICA NÃO INVASIVA EM PACIENTES ONCOLÓGICOS EM CUIDADOS PALIATIVOS
Pacientes oncológicos e em cuidados paliativos tendem a maior grau de fraqueza muscular, conveniente da sua própria condição clínica, podendo apresentar aumento do trabalho respiratório na intenção de manter a oxigenação satisfatória. Sendo assim, a ventilação mecânica não invasiva (VNI) pode ser utilizada a fim de tratar insuficiência respiratória, controlando a dispneia e também promovendo maior conforto ao paciente enfermo. O objetivo do estudo foi analisar os benefícios da ventilação mecânica não invasiva em pacientes oncológicos em cuidados paliativos. Trata-se de um estudo de revisão de literatura integrativa, que obedeceu aos seguintes critérios de inclusão: teses e artigos publicados na íntegra, nas bases de dados: Scientific eletronic Library Online (SCIELO), Literatura Latino Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) e Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval Sistem on-line (MEDLINE) e PubMED, em língua portuguesa e inglesa, utilizando os descritores: oncologia, cuidados paliativos e ventilação mecânica não invasiva. Os critérios de exclusão foram: resumos e artigos de revisão de literatura. Foi obtida uma amostra de quatro artigos e após a análise do material obtido, os resultados apontaram que a VNI contribui significativamente na melhora do conforto respiratório do paciente, além de minimizar seu sofrimento. De acordo a literatura analisada, a VNI vem se mostrando bastante eficaz quando utilizada para melhorar a troca gasosa, controlar a dispneia e minimizar o trabalho dos músculos respiratórios de pacientes oncológicos em cuidados paliativos, proporcionando maior conforto no final da vida, além de prevenir a intubação endotraqueal. Porém, mais estudos acerca do tema são necessários.

Thus, noninvasive mechanical ventilation (NIV) can be used to treat respiratory failure, controlling dyspnea and also providing greater comfort to the sick patient. The aim of the study was to analyze the benefits of noninvasive mechanical ventilation in cancer patients in palliative care. According to the literature reviewed, NIV has been very effective when used to improve gas exchange, control dyspnea and minimize the work of the respiratory muscles of cancer patients in palliative care, providing greater comfort at the end of life, and preventing endotracheal intubation. However, further studies on the subject are needed.
