Abstract: This study analyzes the contribution of the Candiru Integrated Riverine Base to strengthening the fight against crime along the Amazon’s river routes. The objective was to examine how its physical, technological, and operational structure, combined with territorial control and inspection strategies, contributes to combating illicit activities carried out through Amazonian waterways. This applied research adopted a qualitative and quantitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design, developed through bibliographic research and documentary analysis. Nine scientific studies were analyzed, along with institutional documents, operational reports, and official publications related to the activities of the Candiru Base. The results demonstrated that the unit significantly expanded the operational capacity of public security in western Pará, recording, in 2025, 1,088 vessel inspections, 87,769 individuals screened, 1,753.96 kilograms of drugs seized, 39 arrests in flagrante delicto, 43 arrest warrants executed, and 11 firearms confiscated. The findings also revealed advances in combating environmental crimes through the seizure of illegally transported fish and other inspection actions. It is concluded that the Candiru Integrated Riverine Base has become an important territorial control and public security instrument in the Amazon, strengthening state presence, increasing the capacity to combat criminal organizations, and contributing to the protection of riverine populations and the region’s natural resources.
