AVULSÃO TRAUMÁTICA DOS CANINOS MAXILARES E FERIMENTOS POR BRIGA: RELATO DE CASO
Lesões causadas por brigas entre
cães são encontradas com regular frequência
na rotina da clínica veterinária de pequenos
animais. Podendo variar muito quando em se
tratando de gravidade das lesões e dificuldade
de tratamento. Este trabalho relata o caso de um
canino, macho, 8 anos de idade, castrado, 55
quilos, mestiço de Bullmastif, que sofreu diversos
ferimentos causadas por um conflito com outro
cão que possuía histórico de agressividade.
No exame físico pode-se constatar diversas
lesões pelo corpo e cabeça do animal (avulsão
dos caninos maxilares, perfurações nos
membros e laceração na orelha direita), para
realizar o imediato tratamento foi administrado
tranquilizante fenotiazínico (Acepromazina) e
anestesia dissociativa (Xilazina e Cetamina).
Com o animal devidamente sedado, foi
realizada a limpeza, assepsia e curativos dos
ferimentos, como também, a exodontia dos
caninos maxilares avulsionados, que se mostrou
necessária devido à gravidade das lesões,
juntamente com a dificuldade de fixação desses
dentes e possível não cicatrização em ângulo
correto. O animal foi mantido sobre analgesia,
antibioticoterapia e curativos dos ferimentos até
o sétimo dia de tratamento, tendo se recuperado
e recebido alta médica.

Abstract:
Injuries caused by fight between
dogs are regularly encountered in routine small
animal veterinary clinics. It can vary greatly when
it comes to the severity of the lesions and the
difficulty of treatment. This work reports the case
of na 8 years old male, 55 pounds, Bullmastif
mestizo, who suffered seveeal injuries caused
by a conflict eith another dog that had a history
of aggression. In the physical examination,
several lesions were observed in the animal’s body and head (maxillary canine avulsion, performations in the limbs and laceration in
the right ear). In order to perform the immediate treatment, phenothiazine tranquilizer
(acepromazine) and dissociative anesthesia (Xylazine and Ketamine). With the animal
properly sedated, cleaning, asepsis and dressing of the injuries were performed, aa
well as the extraction of avulsed maxillary canines, which proved necessary due to the
severity of the lesions, together with the difficult of fixation of these teeth and possible
non-healing in correct angle. The animal was maintained in analgesia, antibiotic therapy
and wound dressing until the seventh day of treatment, having recovered and recieved
medical release
