AVANÇOS DA MUSICOTERAPIA EM PACIENTES COM SÍNDROME DE DOWN
A pesquisa “Avanços da musicoterapia em pacientes com Síndrome de Down” tem como objetivo realizar uma revisão integrativa da literatura sobre a musicoterapia e seus benefícios em pacientes com Síndrome de Down (SD). O levantamento bibliográfico foi feito a partir de projetos, artigos, dissertações e teses, sem restrições do ano de publicação. A seleção dos artigos foi efetuada a partir da busca na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), SciELO, Portal Periódicos CAPES e PubMed. A partir dos artigos encontrados, realizou-se uma seleção prévia, na qual foram selecionadas 11 (onze) obras para inclusão do texto ao presente estudo. Os benefícios da musicoterapia na SD são pouco exploradas, dessa forma, pouco se consta na literatura, contudo, os estudos já realizados sobre o assunto trazem como resultado, que programas de intervenções precoces utilizando a música como terapia alternativa para os portadores da síndrome, alcançaram sucesso no desenvolvimento dos domínios cognitivos da linguagem verbal e não verbal, domínios motores, e domínio emocional. Conclui-se que mais estudos sobre os benefícios da musicoterapia em portadores da Sindrome de Down devem ser estimulados, assim como o uso desta prática integrativa e complementar.

Abstract:
The research "Advances in music therapy in patients with Down Syndrome" aims to conduct an integrative review of the literature on music therapy and its benefits in patients with Down Syndrome (DS). The bibliographic survey was based on projects, articles, dissertations, and theses, regardless of the year of publication. The articles were selected from the search in the Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), SciELO, Portal Periódicos CAPES, and PubMed. From the articles found, a previous selection was made, in which 11 (eleven) works were selected for inclusion of the text in the present study. The benefits of music therapy in DS are underexplored, thus, little is found in the literature, however, the studies already conducted on the subject bring as a result, that early intervention programs using music as an alternative therapy for patients with the syndrome have achieved success in the development of cognitive domains of verbal and nonverbal language, motor domains, and emotional domain. It is concluded that further studies on the benefits of music therapy in patients with Down Syndrome should be stimulated, as well as the use of this integrative and complementary practice.
