AVALIAÇÃO SOCIODEMOGRÁFICA DE IDOSOS DA ESTRATÉGIA SAÚDE DA FAMILIA (ESF) E SUA ASSOCIAÇÃO COM O SEXO DOS PARTICIPANTES
O ser humano idoso apresenta transformações sociais, físicas e orgânicas repercutindo na qualidade de vida. Objetivou-se analisar o perfil sociodemográfico e associá-lo com o sexo dos longevos. Pesquisa transversal, aprovada pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa com Seres Humanos, realizada com pessoas idosas assistidas pela Estratégia Saúde da Família em Teresina, Piauí. Os indivíduos foram entrevistados e categorizados por sexo, grupos etários, etnia, estado civil, escolaridade, renda familiar, doenças e uso de medicamentos. Os dados foram avaliados por frequência absoluta e relativa e a associação foi calculada pelo teste qui-quadrado no software SPSS 18.0. Houve diferença estatística significativa quando p<0,05. Dos 359 participantes, 138 eram homens e 221 mulheres, com idade variando entre 60 a 93 anos. A maioria da amostra era composta por idosas (61,6%), em torno da metade (51%) do grupo avaliado tinha 60 a 69 anos de idade, 76,6% era não caucasiana, 62,7% era casada, 83,5% tinha apenas o ensino fundamental (83,5%) e 60,0% recebiam apenas um salário mínimo mensal. A enfermidade de maior frequência foi a hipertensão arterial (62,7%) e 75,1% dos pesquisados referiram ingerir medicamentos diariamente. Ressalta-se que o consumo de fármacos, foi maior nas mulheres em comparação com os homens (p=0,001). O estado civil referido pelos investigados também foi diferente entre os sexos (p<0,001), sendo que as idosas revelaram mais a viuvez e os homens o estado civil casado (p=0,012). A população geriátrica tem perfil sociodemográfico vulnerável e estado de saúde que demanda maior atenção.

Abstract:
The elderly human being presents social, physical and organic transformations, affecting the quality of life. The objective was to analyze the sociodemographic profile and to associate it with the sex of the longevity. Transversal research, approved by the Research Ethics Committee with Human Subjects, carried out with elderly people assisted by the Family Health Strategy in Teresina, Piauí. The individuals were interviewed and categorized by sex, age groups, ethnicity, marital status, schooling, family income, diseases and medication use. The data were evaluated by absolute and relative frequency and the association was calculated by the chi-square test in SPSS 18.0 software. There was a statistically significant difference when p <0.05. Of the 359 participants, 138 were men and 221 women, ranging in age from 60 to 93 years. The majority of the sample consisted of elderly women (61.6%), about half (51%) of the evaluated group were 60 to 69 years of age, 76.6% were nonCaucasian, 62.7% were married, 83,5% had only elementary education (83.5%) and 60% received only a monthly minimum wage. The most frequent disease was arterial hypertension (62.7%) and 75.1% of those surveyed reported daily medication intakes. It should be noted that drug consumption was higher in women compared to men (p = 0.001). The marital status reported by the respondents was also different between the sexes (p <0.001), with older women showing more widowhood and married marital status (p = 0.012). The geriatric population has a vulnerable sociodemographic profile and a state of health that demands greater attention.
