Abstract: Objective: Diagnosis in orthodontics is essential, but there is constant concern about the radiation doses to which the patient will be submitted. Thus, Multislice tomography is a viable alternative with a low dose ionizing radiation protocol to obtain three- dimensional images for diagnostic purposes. When the focus of the tomography exam is the dental or bucomaxillofacial structures, it is possible to reduce the radiation dose through the CTdBem protocol. Methodology: The sequence of digital images of two patients who underwent MultiSlice computed tomography with low radiation protocol will be presented. The patients underwent the exam at the University Hospital of Santa Maria - RS, HUSM, in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. Conclusion: With the advent of computed tomography and low radiation protocols, real measurements and high detail images can be obtained, followed by 3D reconstructions for use in orthodontic diagnosis and planning using the MultiSlice CT.
