Abstract: Wastewater treatment is essential to reduce the negative environmental impacts of discharging into receiving bodies of water, and the reuse of treated effluents has become an alternative source of water, especially in agriculture and industry, providing various environmental, social, and economic benefits. Resolution No. 54 of the National Water Resources Council (CNRH), dated November 28, 2005, establishes guidelines for the practice of non-potable direct water reuse throughout the national territory; however, it does not address aspects related to public health. On the other hand, Resolution No. 121 of the National Water Resources Council (CNRH), dated December 16, 2010, establishes guidelines and criteria for the practice of non-potable direct water reuse in agriculture and forestry. This study aimed to analyze and compare the physical, chemical, and biological parameters of treated sewage at the Venturosa Wastewater Treatment Plant (PE). The plant includes preliminary treatment with screening and sand removal, followed by an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor (UASB), biological trickling filter, secondary clarifier, and disinfection through chlorine addition. The analysis is based on Resolution CONAMA No. 430 of 2011 and compares the parameters and results with the regulations of the states of Minas Gerais, Paraná, and Bahia, which establish conditions, parameters, standards, and guidelines for the management of effluent discharge into water bodies for agricultural reuse, such as irrigation.
