AVALIAÇÃO DOS RESÍDUOS VERDES MUNICIPAIS DESTINADOS PARA COMPOSTAGEM NA FAZENDA PÚBLICA JOAQUÍN PIÑERO EM MARICÁ-RJ

Atualmente, os dados municipais sobre as coletas de resíduos verdes ainda são incipientes, sendo os resíduos geralmente destinados a lixões, terrenos baldios e aterros. Uma alternativa para a utilização desses resíduos é a utilização da compostagem. Assim, partes dos resíduos verdes do município de Maricá são enviados à Unidade de Produção Agroecológica na Fazenda Pública Joaquín Piñero para serem utilizados na compostagem. O objetivo deste trabalho é quantificar, localizar e descrever os resíduos verdes municipais recebidos na Unidade de Produção Agroecológica. No período entre janeiro e setembro de 2024, a Unidade Agroecológica recebeu mais de 4 toneladas de resíduos verdes, de 11 pontos de coleta do município. Cerca de 62% de tais resíduos possuem qualidade satisfatória com pouca presença de contaminação por outros resíduos sólidos urbanos. A utilização desses resíduos para a compostagem representa uma forma de redução de gastos para o governo municipal e representa uma melhoria ambiental e de agregação de valor aos produtos gerados.

  • Abstract: Currently, municipal data on green waste collections are still incipient, with waste generally destined for landfills, vacant lots, and landfills. An alternative to using this waste is composting. Thus, part of the green waste from the municipality of Maricá is sent to the Agroecological Production Unit at the Joaquín Piñero Public Farm to be used in composting. The objective of this work is to quantify, locate, and describe the municipal green waste received at the Agroecological Production Unit. Between January and September 2024, the Agroecological Unit received more than 4 tons of green waste from 11 collection points in the municipality. Approximately 62% of such waste is of satisfactory quality with little contamination by other urban solid waste. Using this waste for composting represents a way of reducing costs for the municipal government and represents an environmental improvement and adds value to the products generated.
