Abstract: This experiment was carried out in the Animal Studies Laboratory - LabMEA, of the Paraná State University, Paranaguá campus, aiming to evaluate the supplementation of mannan-oligosaccharide in the diet of fingerlings of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) line Gift and Saint-Peter, during 60 days. The fish (n=192) were distributed in 16 tanks with 45-liter capacity, 10-cm freeboard, and 12 fingerlings each. The design was done in blocks, composed of four treatments and four repetitions, being them, T1= Tilapia Gift, control treatment; T2= Tilapia Gift, 0.25% MOS; T3= Tilapia Saint-Peter (Pink), control treatment; T4= Tilapia Saint-Peter (Pink), 0.25% MOS. The control diet (treatments 1 and 3) was designed to contain 36% BW and 3,469 Kcal ED/kg and pellets of approximately 1mm. Treatments 2 and 4, were supplemented with 0.25 mg kg-1 MOS to replace the corn in the control diet. Higher values (P<0.05) were observed for mean final weight, feed consumption in the Saint Peter strain without differing in weight gain compared to the Gift strain. No significant differences were observed for the parameters evaluated for zootechnical performance in the treatments with added MOS compared with the control treatments for both the Saint Peter and Gift breeds.
