Abstract: In a globalized and constantly changing world, the study of contemporary educational practices becomes essential. Technological advances have revolutionized teaching methods, offering new didactic possibilities and transforming teaching performance. Understanding this dynamic process is essential for the continuous improvement of education, ensuring that it keeps up with the demands of the 21st century. In this context, this article presents an evaluation and reflection on the use of digital information and communication technologies (DITs) by teachers in a public high school in the city of Crato-CE, identifying their practices, challenges and impacts on the teaching-learning process. To this end, a field study with a mixed approach (descriptive and explanatory) was carried out with 09 teachers in the area of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. As an instrument, a semi-structured form was used to collect data on the knowledge, use and difficulties of teachers related to DITs. It was observed that 80% of the teachers had more than 10 years of experience, but only one taught in his/her area of training. ICTs Computers, projectors, and videos were the most frequently cited resources. Only one teacher stated that he/she did not use technologies. The benefits cited for using ICTs were student engagement and more dynamic classes, while the challenges reported were related to limited infrastructure and lack of resources. Finally, ICTs are recognized as valuable pedagogical tools, but their integration is limited by structural and formative factors. Despite the availability of some basic resources, their use is still conventional, without significant innovations. Investments in teacher training and infrastructure are recommended to enhance the critical and creative use of technologies.
