AVALIAÇÃO DO RENDIMENTO DA ESPERMATOGÊNESE EM CAPOTES (Numida meleagris)
Objetivou-se descrever a estrutura e função testicular em capote (Numida meleagris). Foram utilizados seis capotes (Numida meleagris) machos adquiridos de criatórios localizados em Bom Jesus – PI, que foram pesados e após o abate os testículos foram removidos e fixados em formol tamponado. Foram obtidos fragmentos testiculares que foram submetidos ao processamento histológico e confecção de lâminas histológicas para determinação da eficiência de mitose, rendimento meiótico, rendimento geral da espermatogênese e eficiência das células de Sertoli. Os resultados mostraram que a eficiência mitótica foi de 1,39, o rendimento meiótico foi de 1,02, o rendimento geral da espermatogênese foi de 1,42 e a eficiência das células de Sertoli foi 6,74. A determinação dos rendimentos geral mitótico e meiótico da espermatogênese, assim como da eficiência das células de Sertoli em capotes permite concluir que existe uma grande variação desses valores quando comparados com outros animais sejam aves ou mamíferos. Cabe salientar que estas informações são uma das primeiras sobre espermatogênese nesses animais e fornecerá importante contribuição ao estudo reprodutivo do capote.

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to describe the structure and testicular function in Numida meleagris. Six male from farms located in Bom Jesus - PI were weighed and after slaughter the testicles were removed and fixed in buffered formaldehyde. Testicular fragments were obtained and submitted to histological processing and histological slide preparation to determine mitosis efficiency, meiotic efficiency, general spermatogenesis efficiency and Sertoli cell efficiency. The results showed that the mitotic efficiency was 1.39, the meiotic efficiency was 1.02, the overall spermatogenesis efficiecy was 1.42 and the efficiency of Sertoli cells was 6.74. The determination of the general mitotic and meiotic spermatogenesis efficiency, as well as the efficiency of Sertoli cells in overcoats, allows us to conclude that there is a wide variation of these values when compared to other birds or mammals. It should be noted that this information is one of the first about spermatogenesis in these animals and will provide an important contribution to the reproductive study of the Numida meleagris.
