AVALIAÇÃO DO PODER DE COMPRA DO SALÁRIO MINÍMO NO PERÍODO DE 1994 – 2010
O presente trabalho tem como intuito
verificar o comportamento do salário mínimo
desde a sua criação pelo então presidente
Getúlio Vargas na década de 30, até o ano de
2010 no segundo governo o presidente Luís
Inácio Lula da Silva, destacando os períodos
inflacionários da década de 80 e início dos
anos 90, neste embate de inflação, podemos
perceber uma recuperação paulatina do poder
aquisitivo do salário mínimo depois da criação
do Plano Real, porém quando comparado com
o Produto Interno Bruto, o Salário Mínimo
não conseguiu acompanhar o crescimento na
mesma proporção. Esta pesquisa verificou que
junto com o aumento real do salário mínimo,
se obteve um aumento real do poder aquisitivo
dos trabalhadores quando comparado com
alimentos da cesta básica de alimentação e
gasolina, mas devemos destacar que apesar
do aumento real que se obteve nos últimos
anos do salário mínimo, este se encontra muito
abaixo do que efetivamente é necessário para
um trabalhador suprir as necessidades básicas
de uma família.

Abstract:
This paper aims to verify the
behavior of the minimum wage since its creation
by the then President Getúlio Vargas in the
1930s, until 2010 in the second government,
President Luís Inácio Lula da Silva, highlighting
the inflationary periods of the 1980s And in the
early 1990s, in this inflationary crisis, we can
see a gradual recovery of the purchasing power
of the minimum wage after the creation of the
Real Plan, but when compared to the Gross
Domestic Product, the Minimum Wage could
not keep up with growth in the same proportion.
This research verified that, together with the real
increase in the minimum wage, a real increase
in workers’ purchasing power was obtained
when compared to food in the food and gasoline
basic food basket, but we should point out that
despite the real increase in Minimum wage,
this is far below what is effectively needed for a
worker to meet the basic needs of a family
