AVALIAÇÃO DO ÍNDICE DE CARÊNCIA HABITACIONAL NA ZONA NORTE DE NATAL, METRÓPOLE BRASILEIRA
O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a situação do saneamento básico na Zona Norte da cidade de Natal, por meio do Índice de Carência Habitacional – ICH proposto pelo Instituto de Pesquisa e Planejamento Urbano e Regional (IPPUR), que leva em consideração os serviços de abastecimento de água, coleta de esgoto e coleta de resíduos sólidos. Os resultados obtidos mostram que, no geral, o bairro Igapó possui o melhor índice, e o bairro Nossa Senhora da Apresentação, apresentou o pior, decorrente principalmente de seu baixo ICH da instalação sanitária, que apresenta um extremo índice de carência.

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to analyze the situation of basic sanitation in the Northern Zone of the city of Natal, through the Housing Impairment Index (ICH) proposed by the Institute of Urban and Regional Planning and Research (IPPUR), which takes into account the supply services collection of sewage and solid waste collection. The results show that, in general, the Igapó neighborhood has the best index, and the neighborhood Nossa Senhora da Apresentação, presented the worst, mainly due to its low ICH of the sanitary installation, which presents an extreme index of grace.
