AVALIAÇÃO DO CURSO DE ENGENHARIA DE PRODUÇÃO DA UFAL/CAMPUS DO SERTÃO A PARTIR DA PERCEPÇÃO DOS ESTUDANTES
Embora seja considerado
relativamente novo no Brasil, o curso de
Engenharia de Produção tem apresentado
um crescimento acentuado, motivando
estudos voltados à verificação da qualidade
do processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Assim
sendo, este capítulo aborda sobre como
os estudantes da Universidade Federal de
Alagoas/Campus do Sertão/Sede avaliam
o curso de Engenharia de Produção à luz
de três componentes: organização didáticopedagógica;
oportunidades de ampliação
da formação acadêmica e profissional; e
infraestrutura e instalações físicas. Quanto
aos métodos, utilizou-se a aplicação do
“Questionário do Estudante”, formulado pelo
Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas
Educacionais Anísio Teixeira, e a análise
quantitativa baseada na estatística descritiva e
no teste não paramétrico da mediana. A partir
da percepção dos estudantes, verificou-se que
o curso apresenta uma avaliação satisfatória,
com alguns pontos fortes e fracos. Entres
os pontos fortes, os alunos destacaram a
infraestrutura das salas de aula e a oportunidade
de aprender a trabalhar em grupo. Em relação
aos pontos fracos, os alunos destacaram a
indisponibilidade de equipamentos e materiais
adequados para realização de atividades
práticas e, consequentemente, a falta dessas
atividades, além da ausência de uma biblioteca
virtual.

Abstract:
Although Industrial Engineering
undergraduate programs are considered
relatively new in Brazil, they have shown
an impressive growth, motivating studies to
verifying the quality their teaching-learning
process. Therefore, this chapter discusses
how students at the Federal University of
Alagoas/Campus do Sertão/Sede evaluate the
Industrial Engineering undergraduate program
regarding three components: didactic and pedagogical structures of the programs, the
infrastructure and physical facilities, and the opportunities offered by the programs in
order to expand academic and professional training. As for the methods, we distributed
the “Student Survey”, formulated by the Brazilian Institute for Educational and
Pedagogical Research (INEP, Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais
Anísio Teixeira), and conducted a quantitative analysis based on descriptive statistics
and on the non-parametric median test. From students’ perceptions, we verified that
the program presents a satisfactory evaluation, with strengths and weaknesses. Among
strengths, the students highlighted the physical infrastructure of the classrooms and
the opportunity to learn teamwork abilities. Regarding the weaknesses, the students
highlighted the unavailability of adequate equipment and materials to carry out practical
activities and, consequently, the lack of these activities, besides the unavailability of an
online library.
