Abstract: Cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs) represent a serious global public health problem responsible for high rates of morbidity, mortality and disability. Controlling these diseases through lifestyle modifications still poses a huge challenge to patients and the health system. Given this scenario, nurses play an essential role in implementing care aimed at promoting health, preventing complications and improving quality of life. Therefore, it is necessary for patients to have knowledge and feel capable of performing adequate management of the disease. Therefore, this study aims to assess the knowledge of primary care users about cardiometabolic diseases and lifestyle. This is a cross-sectional study to be developed in three Primary Health Care Units (UAPS) located in Redenção, Acarape and Baturité in the Baturité Massif, Ceará, Brazil. The data collection instrument will be divided into two parts: the first will contain information on clinical-epidemiological data and a knowledge test on cardiometabolic diseases, and the second will be intended to assess lifestyle. For this purpose, the instrument for assessing knowledge on healthy lifestyles will be used. The data were organized in tables with absolute and percentage frequencies. The significance level adopted was 5% and the confidence interval was 95%. To assess the normality of continuous data and define the choice of test (parametric or nonparametric), the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests were used. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusophony (CAAE 37047620.1.0000.5576). The expectation is that this project will contribute to improving the knowledge of people with cardiometabolic diseases about risk factors, treatment, and healthy lifestyle habits.
