AVALIAÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO DE ESCOLARES DOS ANOS FINAIS SOBRE A COLETA SELETIVA DE LIXO
O presente trabalho teve como
objetivo verificar o conhecimento dos escolares
dos anos finais sobre a coleta seletiva de lixo,
de uma escola pública do município de Gravatá
– PE, a fim de implantar a Educação Ambiental
na escola. A pesquisa é de caráter qualitativo
e estatístico descritivo, utilizando-se de um
questionário que propôs a abordagem sobre a
temática. Os resultados obtidos demostraram
que os conhecimentos dos escolares precisam
ser fortalecidos, observando-se a necessidade
de propor atividades de sensibilização para
que os alunos assumam novas posturas frente
à questão ambiental e principalmente, em
relação ao tratamento do lixo. Desta forma,
fica claro o papel essencial da escola em
trabalhar uma compreensão ecológica, visando
à transformação da realidade atual, o respeito
ao meio ambiente e a melhoria da qualidade
de vida dos alunos, comunidade escolar e
sociedade.

Abstract:
The present work had as objective
to verify the knowledge of the students of the
final years about the selective collection of
garbage, from a public school in the municipality
of Gravatá - PE, in order to implement Environmental Education in the school. The
research is qualitative and descriptive statistical, using a questionnaire that proposed
the approach on the subject. The results obtained demonstrated that the knowledge
of the students needs to be strengthened, observing the need to propose awareness
activities so that the students take on new postures in front of the environmental
question, and especially in relation to the waste treatment. In this way, the essential
role of the school in working an ecological understanding, aiming at the transformation
of the current reality, respect for the environment and the improvement of the quality of
life of the students, school community and society becomes clear.
