• Abstract: The urbanization process led society towards a reality of accelerated industrialization and consumption. There are still places where a critical scenario is present regarding the disposal of this generated waste. The Environmental Impact Assessment (AIA), as an instrument of the National Environmental Policy, plays a fundamental role in the urban waste management process, identifying damage in the implementation and operation phases of the project. The main objective of this work was to recognize and estimate the environmental impacts of a landfill through a qualitative and quantitative analysis, partially simulating an Environmental Impact Study (EIA). The methodology addressed was based on a qualitative and quantitative analysis of environmental impacts. As a result, it was noted, in qualitative terms, a predominance of positive impacts such as the generation of employment and income, and the closure of landfills in the surrounding cities. However, it is still necessary to carry out mitigating actions for the negative impacts caused in the implementation and operation of the treatment center under study.
