AVALIAÇÃO DE ALTERAÇÕES DE PROTOCOLOS DE CLAREAMENTO DENTAL EM CONSULTÓRIO: RELATO DE DOIS CASOS
Algumas apresentações comerciais de clareadores dentais de consultório sugerem a substituição do gel clareador durante a sessão clínica. Entretanto, não existem bases consolidadas na literatura que justifiquem esta indicação. Assim, o objetivo deste capítulo é relatar dois casos clínicos e avaliar por meio de avaliação subjetiva (visual) e objetiva (fotográfica), a influência da mudança dos protocolos propostos pelo fabricante dos géis Whiteness HP 35% (FGM) e Pola Office Plus 37,5% (SDI) no resultado estético. Os pacientes compareceram à clínica escola da Faculdade de Odontologia de Pernambuco (FOP/UPE) insatisfeitos com a cromia dentária. Em ambos os casos, foi proposto a realização de 2 sessões de clareamento em consultório com intervalos de 7 dias entre cada sessão. Nos hemiarcos direitos foram realizadas aplicações do agente clareador seguindo as recomendações dos fabricantes e nos esquerdos, a aplicação do gel clareador foi realizada de forma ininterrupta. Cada agente clareador foi utilizado em pacientes distintos. No paciente 1, foi utilizado o Pola Office Plus 37,5% (SDI), nos hemiarcos direitos, o gel clareador foi aplicado seguindo as recomendações do fabricante (3 x 8 minutos) e nos hemiarcos esquerdos o gel foi aplicado de forma ininterrupta. No paciente 2, foi utilizado o Whiteness HP 35% (FGM), nos hemiardos direitos, seguiu-se as recimendações do fabricante (3 x 15 minutos) e nos esquerdos, de forma continua. Foi realizado registro de cor com a escala Vita Bleached guide 3D-MASTER e por meio de registro fotográfico. Nos casos em questão não foram observadas desarmonia de cor entre os hemiarcos tratados com protocolos distintos. Observou-se que as modificações de protocolos realizadas foram eficazes no clareamento dental, além de proporcionar economia do gel clareador e maior conforto para o profissional e o paciente.

Abstract:
Some commercial presentations of in-office tooth bleaching suggest the replacement of the bleaching gel during the clinical session. However, there are no consolidated bases in the literature to justify this indication. Thus, the objective of this chapter is to report two clinical cases and to evaluate, through subjective (visual) and objective (photographic) evaluation, the influence of the change in the protocols proposed by the manufacturer of the bleaching gels, Whiteness HP 35% (FGM) and Pola Office Plus 37.5% (SDI) in the aesthetic result. The patients attended the school clinic of the Faculdade de Odontologia de Pernambuco (FOP / UPE) dissatisfied with the tooth color. In both cases, it was proposed to carry out 2 in-office tooth bleaching sessions with intervals of 7 days between each session. In the right hemiarchs, the bleaching agent was applied according to the manufacturers' recommendations and in the left, the bleaching gel was applied uninterruptedly. Each bleaching agent was used in different patients. In patient 1, Pola Office Plus 37.5% (SDI) was used, in the right hemiarchs, the whitening gel was applied following the manufacturer's recommendations (3 x 8 minutes) and in the left hemiarchs the gel was applied uninterruptedly. In patient 2, Whiteness HP 35% (FGM) was used, on the right hemiardos, followed by the manufacturer's recommendations (3 x 15 minutes) and on the left, continuously. Color registration was performed with the Vita Bleached guide 3D-MASTER scale and through photographic registration. In the cases in question, no color disharmony was observed among the hemiarchs treated with different protocols. It was observed that the modifications of protocols performed were effective in tooth whitening, in addition to providing savings on the bleaching gel and greater comfort for the professional and the patient.
