Abstract: With the advent of monitoring technologies and analytical tests, tracking water quality has become an essential control tool in decision-making, both in public policy and in understanding societal behavior. In this context, this study aimed to evaluate the influence of the Festa do Divino Pai Eterno, held in Trindade-GO, on the water quality of the Barro Preto Stream by comparing conditions before, during, and after the event. Four sampling campaigns were conducted at three monitoring points along the stream. Samples were analyzed for color, turbidity, pH, total phosphorus, dissolved oxygen, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, and the presence of coliforms and Escherichia coli, according to the parameters of the Water Quality Index (WQI). Laboratory analyses were conducted in partnership with the Goiás Sanitation Company (SANEAGO). WQI values ranged from 47.1 to 73.2, predominantly classified as “Good,” with one campaign classified as “Fair.” Total phosphorus and coliform concentrations exceeded the limits established by CONAMA Resolution No. 357/2005. However, the population increase during the festival period had little influence on overall water quality. It is therefore concluded that the degradation of the Barro Preto Stream is more related to continuous urban pressures than to the temporary impacts of the event.
