Abstract: This chapter aimed to characterize and evaluate phosphomonoesterase and LPS-dephosphorylase activities of intestinal alkaline phosphatase in Cobb-500 broiler chickens fed diets containing probiotics, essential oils, and an antibiotic growth promoter. Optimal assay conditions were standardized, and enzymatic activities were determined. The highest activity was observed at 7 days, related to gastrointestinal development. Avilamycin supplementation showed significant values at 42 days, suggesting modulation of the intestinal microbiota.
