AUTOAJUDA E EXPERIÊNCIAS DE GERENCIAMENTO DAS EMOÇÕES: UMA ANÁLISE MULTIDIMENSIONAL
O trabalho sintetiza as discussões
da tese de doutorado, que analisou os
significados da literatura de autoajuda voltada
para o público feminino, observando desde
a proposta de manuais de aconselhamento,
quanto as experiências emocionais das
leitoras, que fundamentavam a busca pelos
livros em questão. Realizou-se uma análise
de gênero multidimensional (CONNELL),
partindo do âmbito emocional e acessando
as demais dimensões das experiências
femininas. A pesquisa identificou elementos
de desigualdade de gênero vivenciados
pelas mulheres, seja na família, no trabalho,
nas religiões, nos referenciais simbólicos,
que reforçavam estereótipos de masculino e
feminino que, por sua vez, se manifestavam
em concepções amorosas. O trabalho também
identificou, embora em número menor, rupturas
importantes, seja com a essencialização de
gênero produzida pelos manuais de autoajuda,
seja com concepções de gênero para além
deles. As concepções das leitoras sobre
o feminismo também são discutidas na
pesquisa e foram importantes para pensar
no empoderamento cotidiano, tendo em vista
que alguns manuais de autoajuda projetam
imagens de mulher considerada “poderosa”,
porém reforçando lugares de gênero
desiguais. Considerando o atual contexto, em
que as questões de gênero estão em disputa
na sociedade brasileira, a pesquisa observa
a dimensão afetiva por um prisma político,
sobretudo feminista.

Abstract:
This article synthesizes the
discussions of the doctoral thesis wich has
analyzed the significances of the self help
literature for women, since the proposal of
counseling manuals as well as the emotional
experiences for the readers that justified
the search of this particularly reading. An
multidimensional gender analysis (CONNEL)
was made starting from the emotional context
and accessing other dimensions of the
feminine experience. The research identified
elements of gender inequality experienced
by women, either in family, work, religion, and
symbolic references that reinforced masculine
and feminine stereotypes which, on its turn,
manifested as conceptions of love. It was also
identified significant ruptures, although in small
number, either with the essentialization of
gender produced by these self-help manuals,
or with gender conceptions beyond them. The feminism conceptions of the readers
is also discussed and were important to consider everyday life empowerment, having
known that some manuals project the image of women as being “powerful”, and, at the
same time, reinforcing unequal gender positions. Considering the actual context that
gender issues are in dispute in Brazilian society this research analyzes the emotional
dimension through a political prism, especially feminism.
