Abstract: Chronic pain is considered a high-prevalence public health issue in Brazil, significantly affecting quality of life, especially among women. In this scenario, it becomes necessary to adopt integrative and humanized therapeutic approaches beyond the traditional model, particularly in Primary Health Care (PHC), the main entry point to the Unified Health System (SUS). Auriculotherapy, recognized by the World Health Organization as a microsystem technique, emerges as an effective, safe, and low-cost therapeutic alternative, offering analgesic, anti-inflammatory, relaxing, and energy-balancing benefits, according to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This study, through an integrative literature review, analyzed the effectiveness of auriculotherapy in the management of chronic pain and its feasibility of implementation in PHC. The results demonstrate that the technique is promising not only for pain control but also for managing associated symptoms such as anxiety, stress, and sleep disorders. Its inclusion among the Integrative and Complementary Health Practices (PICS) strengthens its presence within the SUS. It is concluded that auriculotherapy, when performed by trained professionals, can significantly contribute to improving the quality of healthcare, promoting pain relief and overall well-being.
